RESTOREX
TEA PILL (BA ZHEN WAN)

Source:
Rui Zhu Tang Jing Yan Fang (Rui Zho Tang Pharmacy's Formulas from
Experience), Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368).
Primary Functions and Applications: Restorex Tea Pill supplements qi and nourishes blood. It is used to treat gynecological disorders with qi and blood depletion, often the result of blood loss. Guiding symptoms include fatigue, pale face, dizziness, vertigo, shortness of breath, with irregular menstruation, and general pre- or post-partum depletion, including fatigue with low-grade fever not attributable to infection.
It is also effective in the treatment of qi and blood depletion due to spleen depletion, with such symptoms as fatigue, pale face, weight loss, dizziness, poor appetite, palpitations, and low-grade fever with uneasiness due to exhaustion. With these symptom patterns, Restorex Tea Pill may be used in cases of anemia, hypoglycemia, and optic atrophy. Finally, it is used to treat stubborn un-healed skin ulcers, with the area around the ulcer flat, not re or swollen.
Restorex Tea Pill is a combination of two basic formulas,
The Four Noble Extract, a basic formula to strengthen qi, and
The
Four Herbs Extract, a basic formula to strengthen blood. The principal
treatment strategy in gynecological disorders is to supplement blood.
However, classical Chinese medical theory states that blood is difficult
to supplement directly because it is visible. Since the qi is the
leader of the blood, and since the qi, by its invisibility, may be
supplemented directly, it is necessary to supplement the qi and blood
simultaneously.
